Dominic, arrivato a Rosarno per la raccolta delle arance, se ne è andato.
Il giovane lavoratore stagionale liberiano cercava un posto in tenda, ma ha trovato la morte sull'auto in cui dormiva.
"Qui si muore di freddo, di polmonite o in bici per strade non illuminate" ribadiscono le associazioni.

Dominic si è spento a 31 anni il 27.11.2013 e i suoi funerali sono stati celebrati presso la Chiesa del Bosco di Rosarno solo molti giorni dopo: il 14.12.2013.

Dominic, who had arrived at Rosarno for the harvest in the orange season, has gone away.
The young seasonal workman from Liberia was looking for some room in a tent, but found death in the car where he was used to sleep.
"Here people die of cold, pneumonia or cycling along dark roads" social organizations say.

Dominic died when he was only 31 years old on 27th november 2013. His funeral was held in the Chiesa del Bosco in Rosarno, many days after on 14th december 2013.

Al largo di Capo Spartivento la Guardia di Finanza intercetta un peschereccio di profughi siriani e sventa una tragedia annunciata. Il battello non è nelle condizioni di resistere a lungo in mare, imbarca acqua già da tempo. Tutti i migranti sono tratti in salvo e trasportati con le motovedette delle Fiamme Gialle fino al porto di Reggio Calabria.

Scappano dalla guerra, e finalmente toccano terra. La stampa ha parlato di barcone dei bambini, perché 76 dei 226 migranti sono di età compresa tra i 3 e i 12 anni. Una troupe di pediatri volontari li attende sul molo per assicurarsi delle loro condizioni di salute. Successivamente saranno trasportati con dei bus di linea in un centro di accoglienza allestito per l’occasione.

The boat of children | Reggio Calabria (southern Italy) 13.10.2013

At sea not far from Capo Spartivento, the Guardia di Finanza intercepts a boat of refugees from Syria and saves them from an announced tragedy. The ship can sustain the sea no longer and has taken in water for a long while. The refugees are all safe and are taken to the port of Reggio Calabria, on the motorboats of the "Fiamme Gialle".

They are escaping from the war and at last they have found a landing place. The journals have spoken of "the boat of the children" because 76 of the 226 migrants are 12 or 13 years old. A group of volunteer pediatricians are waiting for them on the quay to make sure of their health conditions. Afterwards, they will be taken by bus to an accomodation center got ready for this occasion.
